A new corner shower unit was installed with a pivot door shower screen. The bath was installed with a planter box at the end. This was done for two purposes
1. To fill in the empty space at the end of the bath by the door.
2. To allow for greenery to be added which could be kept in its confined area.
This planter had to be also built to allow for safety as it was close to the door.
The vanity unit itself was designed and custom built to take in the requirements of the owner.
The top is granite with the base two-pack polyurethane. The top was rounded at the bath end and had a small over hang to take it up to the next set of louvres. The end of the cupboard by the bath was rounded to match the top.
Double reef basins and open areas for towels were among the requirements of the Owner
A mirror was installed between the two sets of louvre windows with Hollywood lights above. This style of lights allowed a clear picture when standing at the mirror as opposed to just a single center ceiling light.
The air conditioner in the bathroom was certainly different. Bathrooms in the Tropics often mildew because of the humid conditions, and also by the time you have finished dressing you are often as sticky as before you bathed or showered. The Owner wanted to be able to use the bathroom in comfort and so the air conditioner was installed.
The existing louvre windows were replaced with new breezeway louvres with security screens. This allowed the natural breeze to be caught and therefore keeps the bathroom fresher.
The colour scheme allowed the bathroom to give an even more open appearance.
The standard hardboard doors of the linen cupboard were changed to sliding mirrored doors. This gave the hallway a larger feeling and also created light through windows from the surrounding rooms.
